» Installation Instructions

InterMapper 4.4.3 for MacOS X is shipped as a disk (.dmg) image. If you're reading this file, you've already mounted the disk image. To install and run InterMapper, follow these steps:

  1. If you haven't used InterMapper before, you should use the InterMapper-4.4.3.pkg on this disk to install InterMapper. Double-click it to install, and follow the instructions in the other Read Me file in this directory.

  2. If you are upgrading from a previous "Traditional" version of InterMapper, drag InterMapper® 4.4.3 Traditional to the folder that contains your current InterMapper application. Doing this will automatically preserve your maps and your settings.

  3. Double-click the InterMapper® 4.4.3 Traditional file to launch it.

  4. InterMapper must be given permission to access reserved network resources. Click the Grant Network Privileges... button. You will be prompted to enter the name and password of an Administrator. [What's this all about?]

  5. You may also want InterMapper to start up when you sign on. To do this, click the Login icon of the System Preferences. Drag InterMapper's icon to the window. You can also check the Automatically log in box so that InterMapper will begin running after a reboot.

  6. You will need a serial number to run this version for more than one hour. If you are a customer with a current support subscription, your FULL serial number will work. If not, you can get a serial number via e-mail from:
